Overview
The Hong Kong Jockey Club Compassionate Leader Scholarship is dedicated to nurturing top talent to become compassionate and socially-minded leaders, acting for the betterment of Hong Kong. The Scholarship awardees, also referred to as JC Scholars, are outstanding and well-rounded students committed to serving the core sectors in Hong Kong's society through their chosen academic and professional fields, including but not limited to education, health, social sciences, sports and culture, STEM and business.
The Scholarship is open to first-year local students pursuing their first undergraduate degree at Hong Kong's eight University Grants Committee-funded institutions and The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. Up to 27 scholarships will be awarded for each cohort.
The scholarship covers (1) full tuition fees, academic allowance and living allowance for the entire normative duration of the study period towards an undergraduate degree programme; (2) overseas learning subsidies; and (3) an opportunity to participate in a leadership programme tailored for JC Scholars.

The JC Scholar Journey
Recipients of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarships are named "Jockey Club Scholars", or simply "JC Scholars". JC Scholars are automatically enrolled in The Jockey Club Scholars Alumni Association (JCSAA), a self-running non-profit organisation supported by The Hong Kong Jockey Club. JCSAA is dedicated to mobilising JC Scholars for community service initiatives.
Newly awarded JC Scholars are required to attend an Induction Programme, which is designed to enhance their self-awareness and provide insights into The Hong Kong Jockey Club's operations and charitable work. JC Scholars also enjoy exclusive privileges, including access to various learning, networking, and community service programmes organised by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarships Secretariat.
Furthermore, in the year they receive their award, JC Scholars will attend the annual Recognition Ceremony and Graduation Dinner. This event welcomes the new cohort of JC Scholars and celebrates the graduating JC Scholars as they begin their journey into the professional world.
